France Tour Recap!
| July 25, 2012 | Posted by Sweet Tooth Runner under Travels |
Oh HEY! Long time no see
I’ve just come back from the most AMAZING two weeks in France. This was my seventh music tour (Paris, Croatia+Slovenia, Spain, Hungary, Finland, Germany, and now France), but it was my favourite yet! To make up for the two weeks of no blogging, this is going to be the longest post in the history of the world, and will have WAY too many photos of me. Just an advance warning
We started off with a few days in Strasbourg (northern France). After travelling for hours overnight, I was greeted with this meal:
ham, cheese, and some veggies covered in non-vegan dressing. perfect.
Strasburg is a beautiful town, as we saw during a boat trip down the river. PRETTY!
Some beautiful sunny evenings were spent chilling by the river before concerts

After a great concert in Strasbourg Cathedral, we travelled to the HOT south of France! We did the sightseeing…

…spent evenings by the pool…

…I ate some awesome gnocchi…
…played another great cathedral concert…
…and then a not-so-great outdoor one in which we were all eaten alive by mosquitoes…

…and ate on average three sorbets a day. This is Jessy with my peach sorbet

In Paris we had our final concert…

…an evening river cruise on the Seine…

…shopping, and then busking, on the Champs Elysees…

…fancy last night dinner and awards…

…and finally, DISNEYLAND!!

Tours really bring home to me how TRULY BLESSED I am to have such wonderful people in my life. There aren’t enough words to describe how much my friends mean to me!

Okay, cheesiness and narcissism over for now! Back to running talk and food tomorrow!
Have you ever been to France? I’d been to Paris for a couple of years when I was younger, but I definitely didn’t appreciate the city as much then as I do now!
What is your favourite city in the world? Paris is right up there! Ljubljana (Slovenia) and San Francisco are also faves!
P.S. I am SO behind on emails because of tour (over 400 unread in my inbox right now!) so if you’ve emailed or commented please bear with me, I’ll get there eventually!
I’ve missed blogging! Have a great day friends! <3

BONJOUR!!!!! so glad you are back and what an amazing time! Love the smile and the friends. C’est magnifique!
LINDSAY!! how are you friend? and how is the Hubs? I’ve just caught up on your posts, and I’m so glad that you’re thriving
<3
I’m glad to see you back and holy schmee that loops like so much fun. I’m quite jealous of your adventures. Gnocchi is literally my favorite carbohydrate, I could eat it forever. Though that would result in lots of stomach issues I guess. LOL
Good luck in email catchups-that sounds awful.

Wow, looks so cool! What kind of music do you play?
thanks Sarah! I play classical mostly, but when busking or doing quartet jobs it’s more popular well-known music
Emma I am so pleased you’re back and blogging! I missed yoooou!
Sounds like an amazing time and I’m so jealous you went to one of my fav places ever! Disney! So good.

aaah THANKS Amy!! missed you too!!
Disney is DEFINITELY the best place ever!! hope you’re having a great summer!! <3
Ugh, France is like a veggie/vegan version of Hell. I actually got served something similar for most meals when I was on a school trip to France. Because, clearly, pigs are plants
Such an array of lovely outfits in those photos – you go from kickass runner to elegant musician so effortlessly

Haha definitely! They have a very warped idea of what vegetarian means, let alone vegan haha!

KAT I’ve missed you friend, how are you?! yes you definitely need to visit Paris and Disneyland soon, it’s the best place
<3
Glad you had a wonderful time
I really like France, but mainly for the weather and bakeries- I think it is also quite dirty and not looked after -I am being controversial but I don’t think Paris is that great!! – I think it has lovely buildings but it is also very dirty and the streets are covered with dog mess, and there is graffiti everywhere. I think my fave cities have to be Bath, Edinburgh, Barcelona, San Francisco ……
Hooray for Disneyland too

thanks Maria!! I definitely used to feel the same about Paris, especially on my first visit, but I liked the city a lot more this time around for some reason! hope you are having a good summer so far! <3

Thanks, and you definitely should visit! I love it there! Haha not as much as I would’ve liked, but I had a few that were good, including a nice one along the River Seine
Hope you’re having a good summer so far! <3
Looks like fun. I always imagine France to not be amazingly vegan friendly. I’ve been to Normandy and paris a few times, but not for 10 years or so, I keep hinting for the boyfriend to take me. Favourite city oh so tough. It would be between Buenos Aires, Berlin, San Francisco or Barcelona.
