1. I WAS going to write a WIAW post, but I’ve forgotten to take photos of pretty much everything I’ve eaten. Except this photo which documents my recent obsession with ice lollies:

the scariest thing is that this photo has not been edited/filtered…I clearly just naturally give out an alien-like glow
2. I raced on Monday, and I absolutely LOVED it!! I have to admit, I was nervous for it all day, as it was the shortest distance I’ve ever raced, but I really enjoyed it! I don’t have the official results or any photos from the race yet, but I think I got around 5.25 for the mile…? I’ll confirm the time when I find out
It was weird running such a short distance…it was over before I knew it! I just LOVE racing though, and dropping down in distance was definitely a good test for me! I need to learn to push more over short distances though, as I still felt that I had more left in me.
3. My race was the latest one I’ve ever done (gun went off for my race at 9pm!), so by the time I was done, I was starving and ready for dinner! I went straight to the nearby supermarket afterwards to pick up dinner, and I got a LOT of funny looks! Is it not normal to wander around a supermarket at night in racing gear…?
4. It is the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations this weekend, and the green just across from us is having a fete and a picnic to celebrate! How cute is that?! Sadly, I should be in Crete then, but it looks SO FUN.
5. I discovered that I prefer cold partly-frozen cookies to warm ones. I’m sure you’re so happy you made the decision to read this post and find out all these fascinating facts about me
I made PB choc chip cookies and then froze them, and they are SO GOOD from the freezer!
6. I just saw the movie The Dictator with my friends. I have an embarrassingly loud laugh and I don’t think my friends will ever invite me to a comedy again. Also, I am The Dictator’s spitting image:

twins. all I need is a beard and I could be his doppelganger
What is your favourite hot-weather food? Right now I am in love with ice lollies…I am such a child!
What is your favourite genre of film? I think comedy, but I really should work on making my laugh less scary before I watch them in public
Random: Do any of you guys like iced coffee? I LOVE regular coffee, but iced coffee sounds weird to me! I want to try it though!
Have a great day!! <3

Try Iced Coffee! It’s so delicious! The only downfall is since it’s cold it’s super easy to slurp down, so I’m done with it in 30 seconds flat.

Congrats on your race!! I definitely need to work on shorter distance racing too. I think I have potential, but I psyche myself out! I’m totally with you on the frozen cookies. I love pretty much any baked good frozen though, it’s kinda weird!

I have the same issue with short distances – I always seem to have more left at the end. Great race! Favourite hot weather food is (as of recently) FRESH GUAVAS. So good.

My husband loves frozen cookies. I always freeze them straight out of the oven!

My favorite hot weather food would be anything sweet and cold. Weather it be frozen bananas made into “soft serve” or cold tofu chocolate pudding
My favorite film genre is comedy and horror/scary movies. Totally different, but it depends on my mood.
I don’t really like coffee, so I don’t like it even iced – however Dunkin Donuts Coffee coolata is sooooooooooo good!!!
You MUST try iced coffee pronto! with almond milk it is DELICIOUS!
other than iced coffee my favorite summer treat is watermelon!
5:25=YOU soooo speedy!! great race!
I hope you’ve been having a great week!
xoxo!

Your mile time is awesome!!! Great race-but I agree with you-I like long distance a lot better.
My fav summer food is and always will be ICE CREAM and gourmet popsicles from the farmer’s market <3
Coffee isn't my thing, but I liked iced vanilla drinks from coffee shops! does that count?
Yessss someone who understands how much better frozen cookies are to freshly baked! And you have to try iced coffee- it tastes best after a run

Iced coffee is SO good, honestly! You definitely need to try it,but be careful – it is HIGHLY addictive…
I’ve actually never tried frozen cookies yet,but it sounds like a good idea to me for summer…
Anyhow,I’m glad your race went well, and you’re the coolest for going shopping in your racing gear!

Nice race! Particularly at 9pm – I’m usually half dead by that hour. I’d be lucky to run a 10 minute mile at that time of the evening.
Smoothies are my favourite hot weather treat – I pack so much ice into them that they solve most of my dehydration problems too.
Horror films all the way for me, although the quality of most of the recent ones has been so poor that I might have to go for fantasy if we’re talking around 2005 onwards.
I’ve never had iced coffee either – I really want to try one but with my recent problems with soy I’d have to make my own, and I’m far too lazy and clueless for that
Come on Starbucks, have an option for a non-dairy milk other than soy in your drinks!

I am with you on the cold cookies girl! Totally the best way to eat them! Straight out of the freezer for sure. Nice job on the race too! That is an awesome time.

I really want to see The Dictator! It looks hilarious, as Sacha Baron Cohen always is.
Great job on your race! That’s so incredibly fast. I kind of like a hot drink in the morning, even if the weather is hot, so I just have hot coffee or chai tea. Do they have the Girl Scouts in GB? The scouts here sell these mint chocolate cookies that are amazing straight out of the freezer.

Urgh evening races= being nervous all day!! Congrats on your race, great time and I bet you will notice some drastic improvements over the season- this always tends to occur when people first move to track racing!!:) I want to see the dictator so bad!! So far I’ve seen lots of interviews with Sacha as the dictator..so hilarious!! Have a great rest of week and remember that one can never be too old for ice lollies ;p

haha, you crack me up; I love that last pic. And yes; try iced coffee! It’s really good(: I always ask for lite ice when I order at coffee shops though otherwise they fill it all the way up and you barely get any coffee

Holy crap what a race of champions! Nice work. I’ve been to the super market in my spandex (also to class…lime spandex…yeah…didn’t have anything to change into and couldn’t miss my practical!). I have a loud laugh too-we would be a perfect team!

Wow you are FAST! I’ve always wanted to time how fast I can run a mile. I should get around to doing that…
Frozen cookies are delicious in the summer. My ideal summer cookie would be frozen but still chewy. Yum

I remember seeing Ice Coffee for the first time when I lived in Hawaii in 1983, I was like, dont these people understand the concept of Coffee? ;P Great Time on The race, and a good comedy always rules!
Hey! I’ve been reading your blog for a little while and I thought it was time I said hello
I love running, and I’m just starting to get into racing…it’s so nice to read about your training, and your wonderful positivity
Plus we have something in common…chocolate milk as favoured post-run fuel! But I always go for the rice milk variety – have you dried chocolate rice dream?! Amazing.
Anyway, thanks for blogging and I look forward to continuing to read
