Friday Faves!

Aaah it’s been a LONG time since I’ve done a Friday Favourites post! About time I brought that tradition back methinks…so here are my faves this Friday!

1. The SUNSHINE! Just two weeks ago I was running in a mini-blizzard…

…but the last couple of days I’ve run in shorts and a t-shirt and been WARM! I am  really hoping that it’s going to be just as nice for tomorrow! Seeing as my last race was run whilst it was snowing, it would be a very welcome change!

Buddy is appreciating the sunshine too!

2. This says it all:

Officially selected!! Off to Somerset in a few weeks to race my last cross country of this year at the other National XC race! I am even more excited by the fact that we are a) staying in a hotel down there overnight and I love hotels, and b) I get given a county singlet with my name printed on the back:)

3. Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut butter.

Pretty much my favourite thing on this earth.

4. I babysat for the first time yesterday, and I LOVED it! The little boy I was looking after was so sweet, and he went to bed exactly on time which made my job a lot easier! I basically got paid to sit and watch TV and eat their food for a couple of hours. I think I may have to become a professional babysitter and do this for a living.

I was told to help myself to the contents of their kitchen, and trust me when I say I took full advantage of that! ;)

5. Cereal snackage. I got so hungry walking home from church this evening that I stopped off at a convenience store to buy a snack to tide me over until I got back, even though it’s only a 20 minute walk. Totally necessary.

My first time with Crunchy Nut cereal…I liked it! Sugary goodness:)

6. Pre-race carbo loading (yes, for a 5k!). I know I am the most clichéd runner on the planet because my pre-race dinner is pasta, but I’m ok with that:) Well, Smilies potatoes are my usual choice, but we were all out of those, so pasta it was instead!

Pasta bolognese is where it’s at

7. The perfect Saturday plans. A race (the biggest one I’ve ever done!), and then going out into London with friends in the evening.

I know you all wish your forehead was as shiny as mine is. You just wish people could use yours as a mirror too.

Give me one of YOUR Friday Faves!

What have you got lined up this weekend? If you have plans for the evening and need a babysitter, I’m your gal ;)

Do you have a favourite pre-race meal? Really it’s Smilies potatoes and veggie sausages, but pasta is a close second!

Have an AMAZING weekend! <3

  10. Friday Fave for me? Finding the editor of the village magazine had added a full bit about my marathon & sponsorship. i didn’t think he would when he never replied to my email. Photos & all. sadly the sponsorship URL isn’t mentioned but the blog URL is, so i have added a big My Donate button at the top of the blog :)

W/E plans are saturday cleaning & possibly clothes shopping for new job (no long run :( physio said a rest week due to a knee tendon issue which doesn’t feel right after a rest week still) Then sunday to Brighton to see my grandparent & hopefully popping to a sport shop for Clif Shot Bloks & to Infinity Foods (Brighton’s little answer to Wholefoods)

Hope you have a good race!

    xx

  12. I may or may not have just spent hours reading your blog. It is certainly inspirational and has really given me the urge to go running! I think you’re just so awesome. :)

  13. HOORAY for sunshine!! We’ve had an unseasonably warm week here too and I am LOVING it for running and biking (and generally not having to wear as many layers haha). and CONGRATULATIONS on getting your selection letter to run at nationals – I knew you would :-D I too love hotels, so that’ll be super fun! and there’s totally no shame in having pasta as your pre-race meal….it’s my own personal favorite as well. ;-) and what better way to celebrate post-race than a night out with friends! My best friend from college is coming to visit me next weekend, so I get to go out in my own city (philadelphia) as well!

  14. Sunshine and maxi skirts. Match made in heaven. All this sunshine is making me feeling positively bubbly inside, I almost have to stop myself from giggling.

And hot yoga! Love yoga :)

  15. Also, do you like that hazelnut and chocolate better than Nutella? I’ve wanted to try it but I’m sort of addicted to Nutella and I can’t risk the disappointment :/ haha

    • I’ve never had Nutella (it’s not vegan so I can’t try it now!) so I can’t compare to be honest! But I absolutely LOVE this stuff and I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed! :)

      • Wow, totally didn’t consider that Nutella has milk chocolate in it! Duh, of course it wouldn’t be vegan! Well I will have to get some Justin’s and try it out! :)

  16. wow you look gorgeous!!! Don’t often see you in anything other than running atire;) Im so glad the weather is warming up!!!
