Crazy for Cookie Dough

A few hours ago, I sent out a cry for help on Twitter:

(The ‘thingy’ by the way is a ‘girls night in’/chilled home group I am going to tomorrow night!) Chocolate chip cookies won by one vote to brownies. So I got straight to work!

I can’t remember the last time I baked something and didn’t a) burn myself…

The burning happened about 5 seconds after this photo. They should make arm-long oven gloves for klutzes like me Smile with tongue out

…or b) eat my body weight in cookie dough. I have zero self-control when it comes to cookie dough!

I love it, even if I did feel slightly sick after consuming a ton right before eating dinner! Smile with tongue out

My day was spent in central London doing a quartet job. This is clearly most interesting outfit-of-the-day you will ever have seen:

Almost as soon as I stepped out of the door, still half asleep, I spotted a Costa Coffee van driving past. I knew this was my moment. This exact moment was what all those punishing speedwork sessions were for. If I ran fast enough, I could hijack the van and take all their coffee.

In the end, I just did the boring sensible thing and found a cafe and bought one.

I entertained myself on the commute (and I’m guessing my fellow passengers too from the looks I was getting!) with some quality Christmas music.

My Christmas playlist is over an hour long! Smile with tongue out

And obviously, because I was in the area, I HAD to make a quick Whole Foods trip to stock up on my favourite bars!

DSCF2408

Chocolate chip Organic Food Bars and mini Clif bars! I robbed WF of almost all their stock of these bars, and now my bar stash is replenished wahoo!

What would you choose: choc chip cookies, brownies, or cake? I would have a tough call there between cookies and brownies!

Are you a fan of Christmas music? What is your favourite? I love ALL Christmas music so much! Hence the hour long playlist! Smile with tongue out

Do you have a favourite bar? Those choc chip organic food bars are totally one of my all-time favourites!

Have a great day friends!

P.S. By request, I will be having another Q&A post at some point, so if you have any Qs, you can ask on my Formspring or in the comments below!

  1. Totally agree with you on cookie dough – I can never resist. It’s even worse with vegan cookie dough because you know there’s nothing dodgy in it like raw eggs!
I love nakd bars but I’ve kind of overdosed on them recently.

Are clif bars vegan by the way? I found some in Leeds last weekend but wasn’t sure whether to get them or not – the label wasn’t very clear.

  2. Chocolate chip cookies would win for me. Every time.
I haven’t tried too many bars, but I do like the Luna Nutz Over Chocolate one.

  3. If I had to choose, I would choose muffins. But since that isn’t an option, I’m gonna go with chocolate chip cookies. I am a total cookie dough freak. I always freeze some extra to just nosh on later when the craving hits. Speaking of cookie dough, today my friend brought in homemade chocolate covered cookie dough bites. AMAZING.

  5. Brownies! I’m a chocolate girl :D Except cookie dough is soooo good!! I like a bunch of bars. Mostly clif and lara!

  6. Those chocolate chip cookies look great! For me, it’d probably be the cookies – I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but I’d rather have something crunchy than a fluffy cake or a fudgy brownie. I don’t really buy many bars, ’cause they’re not very cheap. :(

  7. Oh, and a question: have you ever considered barefoot running? What do you think of it?

  8. Brownies i think… really fudgy ones. Plus you can add chocolate chips as well for chocolate overload…. ay ay ay ;)

  9. Fudgy brownies for me! Or chocolate cake with really fudgey icing. Or really thick chocolate chocolate chip cookies. Uhhh.. Whichever one gives me the most chocolate please? And, I love Christmas music! Haven’t broken it out yet though.

  10. Cookies all the way! I’m a cookie girl, there’s nothing better than a yummy, yummy chocolate chip cookie… or caramel… or oatmeal raisin! Oh,I love those so much! Sorry,I’ve got a serious cookie problem.

I loooove Christmas music! And I really don’t want to be annoying, but could you PLEEEAAASE send me your Playlist (via Email)? Because I’d totally love to have one but I have no time for that :(

And uuuuhm,my favorite bar… Well,at least,it would be a bar they don’t sell in Germany! :P I am totally jealous of the bars from Clif etc. in the UK/USA,my friend send me some and they were SO good! I’ve had a Ckif White Chocolate Macadamia, some Luna Bars,a Larabar Chocolate Chip Cookie dough & a Mojo bar yet and I adored all of them! I’d so much like to try the Gingerbread or Peppermint Clif Bars, they sound AMAZING…

  12. Haha! You are so cute.
Chocolate-Chip cookies are ALWAYS a win in my book. And yours look amazing! So fluffy and yummy. :)

  13. I would go for brownies :) Those cookies look lovely though. I never eat the dough as the idea of raw eggs freaks me out, and even when I make vegan ones I dont like the idea of raw flour either! :)

  14. brownies and cookies aren’t really my thing – however if you offered me a piece/slice of bread pudding (Traditional old fashioned british bread pudding) – mmmmm….. plump soaked raisins, light cinnamon & mixed spice yummy. My ultimate treat.

i think i have 1 or 2 xmas songs on my ipod – i’m normally in the car so the radio always has plenty for me! lol

And my fav bar i get from H&B – its a vanilla protein bar by Multipower – just a little 35g bar with 10g protein and tastes just like the Double Decker chocolate bar to me which used to be a favourite. I’d like to try their 50% protein bar but i’ve never seen it in a shop & i know i’d have no self control if i bought a box. Can’t buy a box or big bag of anything!

  15. I’m so glad I’m not the only one addicted to Costa these days! I love their festive flavours and seriously have to limit myself to only going once or twice (or thrice?!) a week! You should totally sign up for a Costa card if you haven’t already. You collect points with every purchase and you can use the points for free coffee, winner!

I do love me a gooey, fudgy chocolate brownie… but for ease of baking and portability (is that a word?!) I’d have to go with cookies. Oatmeal and raisin is my favourite kind although your choc chip ones look pretty amazing… any chance you’d share the recipe with us?

  16. If you had hijacked the van it would have made a great blog post!

  17. thats a good idea about the arm length oven mits! :) I have burnt my self many of times and it is so annoying. It would be a really tough call between cookies & brownies. So I’d probably take both :) I love holiday music with cute decorations. Very festive :)

  18. Mmmm I’m a cake girl. :) I eat tons of raw cookie dough too!! I like Christmas music of the quiet piano variety, but the Mariah Carey Christmas is one of my friend’s favorites!! My favorite bar is white chocolate macadamia clif bar or blueberry bliss luna bar or peanut butter cookie larabar. My question for you is how do you warm up for a race?
Maria @ Beautiful Busy Bee recently posted..What happened to fall?

  19. ah sad my brownie vote didn’t pull through!! I’m totally a brownie girl, but my favorites are actually “blondies” or blonde brownies (basically nothin but brown sugar and butter hahaha).

and I have to say that Mariah Carey song is my FAVORITE christmas song!!!!!! And those chocolate chip organic food bars look awesome, I haven’t seen them at my Whole FOods though! I’m a big fan of Luna Bars, especially the Nutz over Chocolate :-D

  20. I would’ve chosen the cookies too! Cookies are just so awesome, and since they are usually smaller than brownies or cake I go for multiples :)

I love Christmas music, we have a few classic CDs we play each Christmas morning. That Mariah CD is one, and also Amy Grant!

I don’t have a favorite bar because I’m honestly not really a bar person, but yesterday I did fuel before a workout with an Odwalla bar and had a fab Step class!

  22. I actually think the brownies would have got my vote. I’m a real sucker for chocolate at the moment and the chocolaty the better!
Love Christmas music. I’m glad someone else is listening to it already because I was worried I was tempting fate or just annoying. :-)

  23. I love Christmas music!!! It’s the best time of year ;)

  24. How can you choose??? It really depends what mood I’m in :) What recipe did you use for the cookies???

  25. I love Christmas music but my ipod broke this year and took my super amazing playlist with it :( Hopefully during one of my grown up sensible moments I backed up my music or I’ll be starting from scratch with a new one.

  26. Ah wow love your blog; just found it! I would definitely vote cookies…especially because the raw mix is just so good too! Ive had my christmas music on today too..i love it!! Ive been downloading some new tracks for it too!

  27. Recipe??? The dough looks amazing!

  28. Best thing about vegan cookie dough is being able to eat it raw! Seriously. I’m a cookie dough girl, but I think brownies are my favorite. I’m not a big fan of cake! Speaking of cookies, chocolate chip clifs taste JUST like chocolate chip cookies! Love them <3
