Musicals, Hills and Pancakes

I have had SUCH a great weekend! The highlight of it for sure was seeing Phantom of the Opera in the West End. Before the show, my family and I headed out to eat at Spaghetti House.

Pizza? Pasta? This is my home Smile

And then it was time for the show! I have seen many musicals, and loved them all, but this was my favourite and I loved every minute of it.

It made me laugh (hilarious managers), it made me cry (a lot), it made me jump to my feet to applaud at the end (first one up for the standing ovation- no shame!), and it made me want to marry Raoul.

I loved it so much I have been listening to the soundtrack on repeat ever since. Even right now as I type this!

Somehow this morning I managed to drag my butt out of bed nice and early for a run before church. I may have slept in my running clothes so I’d be less tempted to stay in bed… Winking smile In my opinion, you know you’re up too early when it’s still dark outside.

Definitely too early- my eyes are still shut! Smile with tongue out

My team do cross country training on Sunday mornings, but it clashes with my church, so now I just do my own!

Such a great run! I can’t wait till I’m fully recovered and can eventually get back to full training again!

As someone who has spent most of the past six months either not running or running slowly on a treadmill because of injury, hills and running on grass are still relatively foreign to me, and my body is much more used to this:

Nap time!

The best way to refuel on a Sunday is obviously with PANCAKES! Pancake Sunday is the highlight of my week! Open-mouthed smile

Katie’s cookie dough pancakes with pumpkin and drizzled with maple syrup Smile

I would recap the rest of my weekend (meals out, Christmas shopping, gig) but I’m tired now, and anyway my midnight snack is calling me…priorities people! Smile with tongue out

Blueberry muffin yoghurt mess

What was the highlight of your weekend?

What is your current favourite piece of music? The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack of course! All I Ask of You and Think Of Me are top right now Smile

Do you have a late night snack? Yup, and I love them!!

Hope you’ve had a great weekend, and have an amazing week! And CONGRATS to my runner friends who ran the NYC Marathon this weekend, and to everyone else who raced!!

  1. What awesome pancakes! I love late night snacks. My preferred mix is cereal and Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. My current fave music is the Justin Bieber Xmas album and some new Florence + the Machine B-sides I just found from their first album. I can’t wait to hear their second album!

  23. You want to marry Raoul? You’re welcome to him if I can have the Phantom? Deal? So funny that we both love the musical but for totally different reasons, have opposing character allegiances and like completely different songs – Point of No Return is my favourite.

Yep, always have a late night snack. Oat bran with cocoa powder and Stevia for me at the moment.

    • Haha am I the ONLY one here who loves Raoul?! I did feel really sorry for the Phantom though…I cheered myself up by telling myself that he has a happier ending in the sequel (I’ve no idea whether that’s true, I just hope it is! :P) Point of No Return is another fave of mine so we do agree there haha, as is the last song (Down once More) :) Actually, I’m having trouble thinking of one I DON’T love! :P

And THANK YOU SO MUCH for saying such kind things about me in your post (you make ME smile so much! :D), and for giving me that award! I tried to click through from my Google Reader again, and my internet crashed as usual, but I’ll just keep trying!

Hope you had a great weekend! <3
