You will if you believe.

HELLOOO lovelies!! Had a good weekend I hope! Loved reading your comments on yesterday’s post! I loved how shocked most of you were that I’d never tried nut butter pre-blogging haha!
I started my Sunday with a small dilemma. Today’s church service was an earlier one (at 9.30am instead of 11.30am) which means I couldn’t get my run in before as I usually do, so I’d just have to have it afterwards. Enter: the fuelling problem. I have NEVER had a morning run on anything other than a PB+banana sandwich. That’s my thing. But today was Pancake Sunday…do I risk it for pancakes? Of course!
The recipe is here (I won’t repost cos it’s not mine) but I used 1/4 cup agave instead of brown sugar, 1/4 cup spelt flour instead of flaxseed, and about 2.5 tbsp jam instead of applesauce. They were slightly more gooey and brownie-like, but I LOVED them this way!! Katie you are a GENIUS, and I know I say that every time, but it is true!! Course, I had them topped with more PB and jam…
LOVE the track, but WHY is it so far from where I live, and WHY do they have craaazy opening hours?! Still I love it so much! My doctor has banned me from running on roads because of the shin splints (which I am seeing a physio about tomorrow or Tuesday btw!) so I’ve been using the treadmill recently and missing the fresh air! I feel so much FASTER when I’m outside too! Except when there’s crazy wind like there was today!
But that photo was from a month ago, so maybe I’ve matured since then…hmmm…!
Anyway, today’s run was the BEST!
…and he talked with me and watched me run. This links in to the exciting news I mentioned yesterday by the way
So I mainly worked on my form and turnover today as I said, and I was pretty happy with my 200’s and 400’s at paces of between 5.08-5.30 min/mile. I know I can do better too when I’m concentrating on speed and hopefully once I’m fully uninjured! I only just had time for a quick stretch out afterwards before the track manager threw me out (it closed at 1pm, and I hit the changing rooms at 12.58! )
Haha don’t ask me why I am concentrating so hard there…apparently stretching takes a lot of brain power!
It was SO FUN and I loved every minute! It was one of those times when you feel like you were made to do it.
Clearly I wasn’t born a fashionista. Hmmm the fluorescent orange shoes with the blue tempos? I think I need some of you guys to be my personal stylist.
But the exciting news? Basically I was contacted by the running club that I ran with as part of in the race I did a month back. Although the time I got there (5k in 20.59) wasn’t the best I could do, they knew that I wasn’t allowed to ‘race’ because of my injury, but the coach said he saw some ‘promise’ in me. PROMISE?! Yaaaay!!
Anyways, so today I met with him again and I’ve been asked to join the club!! Now get this, this club’s junior division WON the Nationals and the women’s came THIRD in the European Club Championship!! WOAH!! Now I am nowhere NEAR good enough yet to be on the team, but with hard, focused training, I know have the potential to be!
WATCHI THIS VIDEO!! This is the girls team winning the 4x400m relay at the European Championships. They are scarily fast. It actually gave me goosebumps to watch!! They are the team are in black. The actual race starts 1 minute in if you wanna skip to there:
Um, scary right?! Okay, there are obviously those of you reading who CAN run that fast (or faster…!!) but for me that is SO fast it makes my head hurt to think about it!
I believe I can. It won’t be easy, but having a coach and real training sessions will help. But most importantly I truly believe anyone can do anything if they want it bad enough and are prepared work for it. I started running less than a year ago, and I was a 9 min/mile girl six months ago, so I have come a long way already, and I know I can go further.
I made my decision today. Later this year (once I’m *hopefully* recovered from my shin splints and done with exams and stuff for the year) I am going to join. The team isn’t actually where I live, so getting to training and meets is gonna make it that much harder, but so worth it in the end!
Highlight of your Sunday? Can I say all of it, or is that cheating? Okay, the run+coaching thing wins!!
Boast Time! Tell me how far YOU’VE come in something! Running, life, whatever, tell me all about it and I’ll give you a hug!
Random Q: What is your favourite item of clothing/footwear? My beloved orange racing flats shown above, because they have ‘Kiss This’ written on the sole!
P.S. Did anyone get the song reference in the title? Who knows their Disney songs?!
