Banana Oatbran with cocoa powder, topped with homemade DCD and a Hot Cocoa Fudge Baby.

2. Being on a sugar high. Not really an unusual occurrence for me, but it’s just as great every time SmileDSC06797

Yeah, blame these bad boys, and my mum for being a primary school teacher who hands out fruit bars to the good kids instead of chocolate buttons like everyone else does.DSC06822

She knows these make me high, and make me feel like the 8 year old I know I am inside, so she gives me them when I have been good. Daughter points for ironing = fruity bars!! Open-mouthed smile

3. A practise run for my trial! Tomorrow I will be participating in a:parkrun

Parkruns are free weekly timed 5k’s, and there’s one that happens to be on the exact same course as the one my upcoming trial will be on! So I thought I’d do a bit of prep and check it out! Not aiming to break any records tomorrow, but just see what I’ll be up against course-wise in a fortnight’s time!DSC06813

Still SUPER excited though for my first Parkrun! Got my ‘barcode’ ticket thing ready! Open-mouthed smile

4. Banana hunts. You may or may not know, but I hide bananas. This is so that they can get nice and ripe so I can use them in the kitchen without anyone eating them first. Only problem is, I often forget where I put them… So after a loooong hunt, I opened my airing cupboard and saw

DSC06825

Can YOU spot my banana?

AhHA! Found ya you little yellow devil!! DSC06826

Then I remembered. I put it there yesterday. Darn.

5. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffin for One. DSC06818

After seeing Katie’s post today (I know, I know, I have a crush on her!), realising I had to make that goodness immediately, and then embarking on my hunt, I threw the ingredients together (+ chocolate chips of course!), nuked it the the microwave for 90 secs, and voila!

DSC06820

To show you my gratitude and undying love Katie, I put it on the Peter Rabbit plate I know you like so much.

I love you Katie. I love you Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffin. This is actually the best thing EVER, and I WILL be making this every day of my life until I die. Or until I am unlucky on a Banana Hunt.

That is so funny that you hide bananas—most people hide things like chocolate! haha, but I can totally see why :)

  21. Haha, the banana hunt! Amazing. I tend to hide things accidentally, i.e. buy them, not put them away where they belong and then find them a week later when they've gone all gross :(
Good luck for the run! xxx

  24. what the heck is a school bar? girl your hair is so long!

  25. This comment is terribly late!

This weekend I am looking forward to getting some darn sleep finally I hope!

But in response to your comment: I really would not admire me. You're lovely to say so, but my reasons for running so much are not all healthy ones: I run to cope with anxiety, as well as because I love it. The reason I don't take rest days is because I'm generally more sore and stiff with them than without them…I suppose I'm like the Energizer Bunny in that once I stop I grind to a halt and can't get going again.

I also suffer from lengthy periods of mania whereby I literally cannot sit still, and need something to burn the excess nervous energy away, otherwise I'd be carted off in a straight jacket! My scoliosis also makes it very painful to sit, and running loosens things up a lot/stops my back seizing up.

However, yes I do get tired a lot, not so much sore and achy but I am in quite a bit of pain most of the time. Most of that is due to my scoliosis though, and I certainly wouldn't recommend that anyone else follows the same kind of regime as me. Rest days are there for a reason: to allow your body to heal. Because I can't/won't rest, I pick up a LOT of injuries and it's very likely that I'll need a knee replacement by the time I'm thirty, where as you'll be running right into your eighties and nineties : )

And I in turn admire you! I might run long distances but I am rubbish at 5Ks: I don't get going until the 10 mile point! I used to be better at them but nowadays the shorter, speedy runs knock me for six.

Keep doing what's best for YOUR body, because it's a darn fab one (mine is shot to pieces at twenty five!)

    xxx

  26. That banana-hiding is genius! The bonus of living on my own is that I know, if I've saved the last of something and am looking forward to it, it's still going to be there – NOT the case when I loved at home so I feel your pain :-)
    Hope the run was good!

  27. [...] QUADRUPLE Chocolate Oats. Remember the Triple Chocolate Oats on my last Friday Faves? Well I amped up the chocolateyness even more. Soon, I’ll be at Dectuplet [...]
